Subject Matter & Content
The Manual Gallery 303 is not interested in censorship, and we believe artists should be free to explore challenging ideas, perspectives, and subject matter. At the same time, the gallery is part of a neighborhood and accessible to anyone who happens to walk by, including families and children.
Because of that, we ask artists to keep a few simple guidelines in mind when selecting work for an exhibit:
The work should be contemporary in its approach, subject matter, or perspective.
No AI-generated artwork. The work must be created by the artist submitting it.
No nudity or sexually explicit content.
No profanity or explicitly offensive language.
That's really it. We're not here to tell artists what they can or can't say. We simply want to make sure the gallery remains an accessible and welcoming space for the entire community.
If you're unsure whether a particular piece is appropriate, please reach out. It's always better to have a conversation than to make assumptions.
A Note About Selling Artwork
The Manual Gallery 303 is not a traditional commercial gallery. We do not sell the artwork featured in our exhibits, and we do not take a commission on your work or charge you a fee to exhibit.
Our goal is simple: to give artists a space to share their work, tell their story, and connect with an audience without putting a price tag on the opportunity.
If someone sees something they love and wants to purchase your work, they’ll be directed to you. Each artist’s exhibit page will include a link to their website or preferred place to learn more about their work and make a purchase.
The one exception is my own work as the gallery’s artist-in-residence, which is available for purchase directly through The Manual Gallery 303.
